Time For Change

I sometime try to understand the current political class we have in this country. In 2007, they trespassed through the entire selling their ideas to the people, on how they would boost the economy of the region plus development in terms of infrastructure. In one case scenario, my own constituency-Manyatta in  Embu County. The current MP promised a lot of things to the people; better roads and increased development. I don't know about other areas but as far as am concerned, he has done very little for this area. Some of the roads are not in a good state especially in my own hood. No vehicle is getting in or out of the hood except for the four wheels drives.I kinda asked myself what's really happening-the councillor is dead asleep on her job and she's doing nothing to make things right.
I think it's time we changed the leadership that's on top. Any leader elected in any one term, should be vetted in terms of development before vying for the next term. We should also put a limit on the number of terms an MP is in parliament, just like with the president.
What do you feel about it?

Where Are Our Youth Heading To?

This weekend was a packed one. On Saturday, I was in a traditional marriage rites ceremony for my cousin in Meru and later on for my niece in Runyenjes. I had accompanied my old man (he wanted me to see how marriage rites are done so that am aware just in case I want to marry) and at the end of the day, we stopped by my uncle's pub at around 8:30pm and being a Saturday, the place was crowded-with youths, drinking themselves silly with cheap liquor. Not that I detest drinking, but I detest the behaviour arising out of the drinking. I was enjoying my soda, a brawl erupted in the pub between two young turks over some beer and the short dude (who was obviously overpowered by the huge guy) after being given some few slaps, came back asking for Kshs.20 so that he can buy another drink, and this guy is jobless, he hangs out at the matatu stage the whole day. My question is, why all this? Am very sure this dude is a primary school drop-out thus it will be hard for him to secure a good job. Where are our youth heading to?

My Poem To You

"many days have passed when the brightness has faded
the darkness taken over with glory of fade...
smiles no longer wade upon the pretty faces of babies...
there seems to be a non-existent life in this futile world...
but a dawn has cracked,
with a glimpse of utter brightness
a damsel of golden beauty
appears at the end of this dark tunnel,
with a smile sparkling upon her cute face...
with grasping breathes i run to the end of the tunnel,
to be greeted by warm embrace of her tender lovely arms,
she breathes new life into me-
in the days beyond,
i imagine to be with thee-thy beautiful lass
as we yonder to the crimson sunset
hand-in hand"
